Our Story
Hello,
I'm Mamiko Kajiho, founder of Maminka.
Originally from Japan, I've been living in the UK for several years now. The name "Maminka" means "mum" in Czech - a word I chose to weave together my own name, Mami, with my lifelong love of Czech animation, which first set me on my creative path.
When I became a parent, I found myself completely overwhelmed. The market was full of options, the information felt endless, and I didn't know where to begin. Like many parents, I assumed that anything labelled "for babies" was safe. I was wrong. The more I looked into it, the more unsettled I became - discovering how many products marketed to children contain ingredients I wouldn't knowingly bring into my home, sold by companies with little transparency about what's actually inside them.
That realisation became the foundation of Maminka: a brand built for parents who feel the same quiet uncertainty I did, and who simply want to choose beautiful things for their children without having to second-guess every label.
My mission is simple — to create thoughtfully designed wall décor using carefully considered materials, so you can shape your child’s space with comfort and peace of mind.

はじめまして。Maminkaデザイナーの梶保まみです。
日本で生まれ育ち、今はイギリスの暮らしの中でものづくりをしています。「Maminka」はチェコ語で「ママ」という意味。私の名前と、子どもの頃から好きだったチェコアニメへの想いを、ひとつの言葉に込めました。
親になってから、選ぶことの難しさを知りました。「子ども向け」と表示された製品が、必ずしも安全ではないことも知りました。透明性のある、信頼できるものづくりが必要だと感じたことが、このブランドの出発点です。
Maminkaは、安全で美しいウォールデコを通じて、子どもたちの空間に安心と喜びをお届けしたいと考えています。穏やかで、小さな喜びのある空間を、一緒につくれたらうれしいです。
