FAQ

About Our Product

What makes Maminka products baby-safe?

We carefully choose our materials - substrate, inks, and adhesives - to ensure they are non-toxic, low-VOC, and safe for enclosed spaces like nurseries.

Free from phthalates, formaldehyde, and toxic off-gassing.

Designed with infant and child wellbeing in mind. Safe to use around babies, toddlers, and expectant parents.

What are Maminka wall stickers made from?

We use 100% rice paper on the visible surface of our wall stickers—giving them a natural feel, a matte, breathable texture, and plastic-free contact.

And we use water-based pigment inks and adhesive (synthetic rubber & acrylic with polyester carrier layer; no formaldehyde, no phthalates). Tested to meet FDA 175.105 regulations, this adhesive is safe even for indirect food-related applications.

What are Maminka wallpapers made from?

Our wallpaper base is a premium non-woven paper that combines natural and performance fibres for strength and sustainability:
45% FSC®-certified wood pulp
15% polyester fibres
20% fillers
20% binders

And we use water-based, Greenguard Gold certified inks.

Why is PVC-free important in children's wall decor?

PVC is a type of plastic often used in low-cost wall decals or vinyl wallpaper. To make it soft and flexible, manufacturers often add phthalates - chemicals that can slowly leach into your home’s air and dust. Studies show phthalates like DEHP can disrupt children’s hormones, affecting brain development, metabolism, fertility, and even increasing cancer risk.

Beyond the health concerns, most PVC products- especially soft, flexible ones - are rarely recycled due to safety, cost, and processing challenges. This contributes significantly to long-term plastic pollution.

At Maminka, we never use PVC in any part of our wall stickers or wallpapers- because your child’s health and the planet matter.
